Mapping the Growing Local SC Food System Network

July 2022 – Ongoing // South Carolina Project // PARTNER CPRM

Growing Local SC is focused on building a network that supports South Carolina in getting food from farms and gardens to the table. It is designed to be reflective of the local food system, a complex web of activities involving the production, processing, transport, and consumption of food.

Growing Local SC works with various community partners to strengthen the state’s food system. This includes Food Policy Councils, local food pantries, and food banks, as well as farmers and all those who participate in the Food System. As part of that process, they are partnering with Visible Network Labs to assess the strength of their collaborative relationships and find ways to improve the network in the future.

We are using our PARTNER CPRM to map out their complete network of partners and visualize the pattern and quality of relationships. The data will identify gaps and redundant ties, demonstrate their collective impact and adapt their strategy moving forward.

This work is being done in partnership with several major sponsors, including the South Carolina Food Policy Councils and Healthy Palmetto. You can learn more about our Project Team below or ask a question about this project on the right.
