Please help us welcome a new addition to our team, Zac Thompson!

Zac is VNL’s Director of Product Management, and in his new role he works alongside the Product Team and our customers to continuously elevate our products. Zac joined VNL in late 2021, and we are very happy to have him aboard!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I am from Colorado and have lived here all my life. My wife and I enjoy raising our three young boys and spending time with friends and family. I have been in the the software business for 15 years. I enjoy the way that software can change the way that we do work to help us be more efficient and to help understand the information that we have at our fingertips.

What is your new position and what do you hope to accomplish in it?

I am VNL’s Director of Product Management.  In this new role I will work closely with our customers and our teams to drive VNL’s products to new heights. 

Who is a significant mentor in your life?

My wife is a significant mentor/partner in my life.  She helps me to be a better person and to continue to grow both in my personal and professional life.  I can always count on her honest opinions and her support in the decisions I make.  I am so lucky to have her and I hope that everyone can find that person in their lives.

Where is your favorite place to visit on vacation?

My favorite place to visit would be San Diego. Probably one of the biggest draws for me in a vacation would be the food. I have had the opportunity to be in San Diego for work and for fun but the food is always great and there are all kinds of things to try. If you are ever downtown I really like a place called La Puerta. Their Papas Fritas are awesome and my favorite are the Carnitas Fries. My boys also don’t mind that Lego Land is pretty close too!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be, and why?

There are so many cool superpowers, so this is a hard choice.  I would have to pick flight.  I think that would be such an amazing experience.  I could really take some cool videos and pictures.  The only deal breaker would be that I would need to take people with me.  I would be so cool to fly one of my boys to school or practice.

What do you enjoy doing away from work?

I enjoy spending time with my family.  We love pizza and a movie on Fridays to finish the week.  We also love to hike, go camping, and visit national parks.  A few years ago we visited Acadia National Park in October.  The leaves and the park were amazing.  We hope to visit many more parks over the next few years spending time together as our boys grow and learn more about who they are and what they want in life.
