Richard joined VNL in 2022 as part of the Data Science team to support client projects. He has worked in Colombia, Guatemala, Kenya, Mexico, Senegal, Serbia, and Tanzania using social network analysis to promote development and advocacy projects propelled by community-led coalitions.

Richard holds an MA in International Policy and Conflict Resolution from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, and a BA from Amherst College in Asian Language and Civilizations with a focus on Japan. He also trained at Carnegie Mellon University in Dynamic Network Analysis and Computational Organization Theory.

Richard lives in Washington, DC, where he enjoys cooking, and learning to identify trees and birds with his son. When he has the time he loves to play board games with friends over beers and watch tons of movies.
